Russell Pearce


Russell Pearce was called to the Bar in 1987. Practicing initially at the Northern Bar until 1993, Russell then served for two decades in senior executive roles with anti-corruption agencies in Queensland and in Tasmania.

While with the Queensland Crime and Misconduct Commission, Russell led high-profile and complex investigations into public sector misconduct, including investigations culminating in the jailing of political figures.

Russell is an adept advocate with experience across many facets of the Law, especially criminal law and administrative law. He has appeared in most jurisdictions, and operates chambers in Queensland and inter-state.

A commissioned officer in the Australian Army Legal Corps since 1989, Russell is an active member of the Army Reserve with the rank of Colonel. He has practiced across all areas of Military Law, including appearances in complex courts-martial and military inquiries. Russell saw active service in Iraq, for which he was recognised wiht the award of the Bronze Star Medal by the United States.

Russell is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has served as Deputy Chair and Directory of RSL Care, and is the independent probity advisor to Primary Health Tasmania.
